Cate Hershey

Cate is currently an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) & Sustainability Consultant with Riveron Consulting. A native of Western Maryland, Cate is a lifelong environmentalist with a passion for engaging our local community on sustainability issues.

 

Cate earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Global Peace and Conflict Studies at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

 

Cate’s career has spanned several areas of sustainability. She worked for the University of Maryland’s Western Maryland Research and Education Center, collaborating with local farmers and UMD faculty to support agricultural research projects. She supported the Western Maryland Food Council in its early years, helping to set their strategic plan and develop its first annual regional Food Conference.

 

Cate has spent the past 6 years of her career in consulting, most recently on the Environmental, Social and Governance team at Riveron Consulting. In her role, she serves as a project manager helping clients from various industries develop and execute their sustainability strategies, align with ESG-related regulatory requirements, draft comprehensive Corporate Sustainability Reports, and engage with stakeholders on ESG issues.  

 

Cate lives in downtown Frederick with her husband. In her leisure time, Cate enjoys canoeing the local waterways, running along Carroll Creek, and reading in her backyard.
